Actress Barbie Imperial today slammed the people spreading her forged nude photo and called them “stupid.”
Imperial, who starred in the smash television series Araw Gabi (“Morning Night”), showed her original photo, where she’s wearing a yellow swimsuit, and the edited version, where her swimsuit was covered with black markings.
“You really think I’ll post a photo like this?” she wrote on Instagram about the edited version of the photo. “To everyone sharing this, you are terrible. And to everyone bashing me because of this [nude] picture, you are being stupid.”
Addressing those who edited her picture, she asked, “Don’t you have anything better to do than edit photos of women and make them into nude photos?”
The 22-year-old actress added that whoever created the photo is really making her “angry” and urged them to “stop” because they “have nothing to contribute [to society].”
Imperial is just the latest victim of this trend, where a female celebrity’s image is altered to make it appear lewd. Just last week Maris Racal and Sue Ramirez decried the spread of photos that were edited to make it appear that they were nude. Like Imperial, the two actresses were wearing bikinis.
Last year, former Miss Universe Catriona Gray filed a complaint at the National Bureau of Investigation against the persons who uploaded her fake lewd photos online. The bureau has yet to announce if they have found the perpetrators of the crime.
