It was on March 25, 2017 when President Duterte visited the Province for the groundbreaking of the proposed rehabilitation center.
The five hundred (500) million worth facility was donated by Mr. Kitson Kho of the Friends of the Philippines Foundation and Kinming (Xiamen) Real Estate Co., Ltd. to the Government of the Philippines.
The NMWRC would combine the process of detoxification, rehabilitation, sports, and recreation; education and skills-training under one roof. Its goal is to turn drug abuse treatment from compulsory to voluntary. Standardization, humanization and modernization shall be the guiding principles of the center.
Drug abused patients would have a minimum of a six-month stay in the facility wherein they would be rehabilitated under the Therapeutic Community (TC) program of the NMWRC.
We just launched the Northern Mindanao Wellness and Reintegration Center in Malaybalay Bukidnon which shall cater to all the Drug rehab and Mental Health patients of Region 10 and even other parts of Mindanao. Its the Biggest and most beautiful of its kind in Mindanao and probably in the Philippines. A dream project that was made successful with the donation of the Friends of the Philippines Foundation’s Kitson Sadino Kho for all the buildings, Malaybalay City Government’s Mayor Iñaki Zubiri for the Land and our office for all the coordination. This is Private and Public partnership at its best. Built in less than a year, and now its the go to place for Rehabilitation in Mindanao. The bonus is the cool mountain air of Malaybalay and Beautiful Bukidnon. Parang naka aircon 24/7. Great example for Medical Tourism in the Countryside 🇵🇭🇵🇭❤️❤️😊
